Gijo John is the founder and research editor of Maryland ADU Guide. He independently researches Maryland accessory dwelling unit laws, ordinances, permit processes and homeowner planning issues using primary sources such as Maryland statutes, state guidance, county and municipal codes, official meeting records, permit documents and fee schedules. His work focuses on comparing statewide requirements with local implementation, documenting unresolved conflicts, and turning technical material into practical homeowner checklists, tools and decision guides. Gijo is not a Maryland contractor, architect, engineer, attorney or government official, and the site does not present him as one.
